The Tenwa era, known as an example of good governance in the early Edo period, is credited to the achievements of the fifth shogun, Tsunayoshi, who ruled over the Tatebayashi domain.

By eliminating the brutal atmosphere of the Warring States period and fostering Genroku culture, this period gave birth to rare intellectuals such as Chikamatsu Monzaemon, Ihara Saikaku, and Matsuo Basho.

Our company (Mita Sanshodo) was founded in 1928 in Tatebayashi City, Gunma Prefecture, and is celebrating its 90th anniversary.

The commemorative original fountain pen, "Genroku Shogun," was created by the craftsmen at Platinum Pen, who produce fountain pens at their nearby Isesaki factory.

Walnut, a rare material for wooden fountain pens, is specially processed to create a masterpiece that highlights the individuality of the wood grain in each pen.

[Walnut]

Walnut means "walnut" in Japanese. Walnut is a high-quality wood that is said to be one of the three most famous woods in the world along with teak and mahogany. It is shock-resistant, heavy, has little warping, is easy to process, and above all, has a beautiful appearance, so it is often used for high-end furniture and crafts.

In addition, because it contains a moderate amount of oil, the more you touch and use it, the more you can enjoy the changes that occur over time.

Walnut is a high-quality wood that was once said to be a symbol of wealth in the West. It remains popular even today, and is used in the podium of the US President and Milan Cathedral. This fountain pen is made of walnut wood with a matte finish that has been applied with urethane paint. The more you use it, the more lustrous it becomes, making it a masterpiece that you can use and cherish for a long time.

The Genroku Shogun (Walnut) is made with high quality walnut lumber. Each pen is made to accentuate the unique grain of the wood used, and no two are the same. Treated with polyurethane and given a matte finish, this pen elevates any workspace, and the finely crafted Medium nib puts down a robust line with little pressure. Produced in a limited run of 100, each pen is engraved with its unique production number.
